Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Heinz Hammer and I am the chief administrator of Routes International (RI).
What started as a small site to help sell my book "Routes, The Lighter Side of Public Transit" has now developed into a comprehensive transportation and travel related reference and travel booking site covering all modes of transportation by air, land, rail and sea worldwide.
My interest in transportation was awakened at an early age in Germany where my grandfather and my uncle, who both worked for the railway all their lives, allowed me to observe them at their various fascinating assignments. I also developed a keen interest in aviation which eventually led me to a part time career as flight instructor. A genuine interest and appreciation of all "people" movers has helped shape the character of the site.
